Successful conference on the fishing and aquaculture industry

On Friday, March 28, we held a conference in connection with our 5th anniversary. The 2024 annual report from Sjókovin on the state of the fishing industry was presented, and there were many exciting presentations on the agenda from our partners at Matís, Nofima, UiT, and the Iceland Ocean Cluster, as well as from Sjókovin staff, who gave updates on ongoing projects.

We also had some exciting discussions about statistics and data, how the collaboration between industry and research can be improved, and what can come out of enhancing this cooperation and the use of data. See images from the event below.

The setting at Varpið was exceptionally good, and in the reception, there was also an exciting exhibition featuring products from the sea. There was plenty of delicious food, and the conversations among the participants flowed well. See the photos taken by James Currie Photography below.
